Polipol Island

Polipol Island is one of the more popular spots in Bani, the municipality just south of Bolinao. About fifteen minutes from Patar Beach by motorboat, around the headland past the lighthouse. The island stands clear out of the water, small enough to walk across, with fossilised clams worked into the limestone at the top.

Most visitors come for the cliff jumping. The highest ledge is about fifteen feet, and the water below is deep enough to handle it. The view from the upper rocks is one of the best in the area for sunset, with the gulf opening south and the West Philippine Sea stretching out to the west.

Open year-round, though the water is calmest from March through August. Boats can be arranged from Patar Main Beach for a half day. Bring water shoes and sun cover, the rocks are slick where they get wet.
