The pool at the base of the falls is fed by spring water that comes straight off the limestone, which keeps it cool even on a hot afternoon. The basin is wide enough to float in without crowding, and the falling water keeps it gently churning at one end.
Wear shoes you do not mind getting wet, the rocks at the edge are slick. The pool sits in a small clearing surrounded by forest, and once you are in the water the only sound is the falls and the cicadas behind you. Easy to spend an hour without realising it.
