Bolinao town is the historic centre of the peninsula, thirty-five minutes from the cabin. The parish church on the plaza, Saint James the Great, was built in 1609 by the Augustinian Recollects out of black coral stone, and is among the oldest churches in the Philippines.
The stonework is still mostly intact, and a small museum next door has artefacts from the original mission. Sunday masses are at 6 AM, 8 AM, and 5 PM; the weekday mass is at 6 AM. Visitors are welcome outside of service hours.
