Air Conditioning
Updated · June 10, 2026
We pre-cool every cabin before you arrive, so you walk into a cold room after the long drive rather than waiting for it to catch up. Once you are settled, the temperature is yours to set.
The Units in Your Cabin
- Shoreline cabins have a single 2.5 horsepower Condura unit that cools the whole room.
- Horizon cabins have a 3 horsepower Carrier unit in the lounge, which covers the living, dining, and kitchen area, and a 1.5 horsepower Condura unit in each bedroom.
The Remote
The remote sits on the side table in each room. The Condura and Carrier remotes share the same layout, so the buttons below work the same way across the cabin.
- On and Off. Press once to start, press again to stop.
- Mode. Cycles through Cool, Dry, Fan, and Auto. For a beach afternoon, leave it on Cool.
- Temperature. The up and down arrows set the target, anywhere from 17 to 30 degrees. Around 24 degrees is a comfortable, efficient setting.
- Fan speed. Choose Auto, Low, Medium, or High. Auto lets the unit decide.
- Swing. Starts and stops the louver so you can aim the air. Hold it for a couple of seconds to let the louver swing on its own.
- Timer. Sets the unit to switch on or off after a set number of hours.
- Eco or Sleep. Eases the temperature up gently overnight to save energy and keep the room comfortable while you sleep.
Carrier units in the Horizon lounge also have a Follow Me button, which reads the temperature at the remote rather than at the unit, so the cabin cools to where you actually are.
Cooler Faster With the Doors Closed
The cabins are sealed well, which is what lets them hold the cold. Keep the doors and windows closed while the air conditioning runs, and the room stays cool with far less effort.
If It Is Not Cooling
If a unit is not keeping up, or the remote is not responding, the caretakers can check it for you. You will find their contact on the card by the phone.
