The Patar Rock Formations

Updated · June 6, 2026

The Patar Rock Formations sit along the coast toward Bani, a short boat trip from Veue. You can see them more clearly during the wet season when the tide reveals them along the shoreline, and reach them by boat year-round when the sea allows.

When to Go

  • March to August (dry season). Calm water, settled weather, the most predictable boat trip.
  • September to February (wet season). Bigger swell makes the boat ride bumpier. Plan around weather windows.

How to Get There

Our caretakers arrange the boat for you. Let them know which day you’d like to go and roughly how many guests are coming, and they will coordinate with a local boatman.

What to Bring

  • Reef-safe sunscreen
  • A hat and sunglasses
  • A light layer if you’re going early or late
  • A waterproof bag for phones and cameras
  • Drinking water
  • A towel
  • Aqua socks for grip on the rocks
  • A rash guard or light shirt for sun protection during the boat ride

Wear something you can swim in.

A Safety Note

The boatman is the captain. Follow their instructions about where and when to swim near the rocks. If conditions change quickly, the trip will end early.
